What we talk about:
Creativity flows in cycles.
We can’t expect our creativity to always be “ON”, there’s a natural ebb and flow to the earth and that’s alive in our writing, too.
Deep wisdom comes from the body, not the brain.
Singers know that our voices live in our bodies, not in our throats. It is the same for writers. The full power of your voice can only be accessed and expressed when you take the time to become consciously centered and connected in your body before you pick up your pen.
Writing happens amidst the busy-ness of real, daily life.
I won’t ask you to cloister yourself on a mountain top, shut out the world, or drop all your existing commitments. But I will invite you to make a deep commitment to prioritizing your writing on a regular basis. This consistent nourishment and attention is the most powerful thing you can do in relationship to your authentic voice.
Nature is our greatest source of kinship and support.
Whether it’s taking a journal into the forest or keeping a bottle of flower essences on your desk, your writing is enriched by an intentional relationship with the green world.
What do we mean by Wild Embodied Writing?
Wild carries many meanings, and I wonder what it sparks within you? Do you feel you’re allowed to be wild? Or that to be wild is to stray from the accepted path, or to place yourself in a dangerous situation?
Your wildness is your magic…which is exactly why it was likely stamped out of you. Or maybe they tried (and mostly failed.)
Wild is your true nature, your untamed and audacious self. This inner terrain is where your authentic voice roams, and you’ll be invited to meet her there and listen deeply to what she has to say.
Embodied is to create a home for your soul and spirit, and to fully occupy your lived experience. The aim of embodiment is to come into wholeness, to feel integrated within yourself.
If you’re eager to bring this kind of soulful nourishment to your writing, Wild Embodied Writing is waiting to welcome you to circle around the creative fire.
